Rego Park was all farmland until the early 20th century. This area was first settled by Dutch and German farmers who sold their produce in Manhattan. In the 20th century the Real Good Construction Company began to develop the area, which is where the name comes from (REal GOod). Houses were built for $8000 and stores followed on Queens Boulevard and 63rd Drive. Much of the population that moved here was Jewish of Bukharian, Iranian, and Russian ancestry. After World War II, many Holocaust survivors settled in the area.

Find something unique

Many of the houses in Rego Park are done in the colonial and Tudor style with slate roofs.
